Should You Detox Before Starting a Diet?

A detox is a popular part of many diet plan preparations, so let’s take a look at whether or not it should be a requirement.

Some people say that an occasional detox diet makes them feel invigorated and alive, fully motivated to implement a long-term diet regimen.

Others claim a detox left them feeling lethargic and even dizzy at times. It’s important that if you plan to detox, you carefully consider how you feel throughout the process and keep an eye on your health.

Some detox plans are safer than others. There are some that last 24 hours and those that last a few weeks or longer. Detox plans are not meant to replace normal nutritional plans for long periods of time.

Many detox programs claim that their plan will flush out toxins from your body. This can be true in many instances, especially if the detox is a healthy mix of fiber and water.

There are many detox programs – some of them are a cleansing program and some of them are actually a fasting program. You have to understand the difference between the two.

Cleansing will help flush out toxins in a way that utilizes certain organic whole foods meant to clean out the colon. Fasting purifies the body and for many, affects them spiritually in a way that has them ready to take on a more regimented diet plan.

Fasting detox plans should only be done for 1-2 days, because your body needs nutrition to survive. Cleansing detox programs can be done for longer periods of time, but gradually have you moving back to a more normal eating plan.

Is a detox necessary? No. But for some, it’s like delivering a clean slate on which they can then build new habits to replace old ones that contributed to their weight gain over the past weeks, months and years.

If you are looking for a product that will help you to detoxify and cleanse your body, why not consider Dr. Miller's Detox.  By cleansing and detoxing, you can restore proper nutrient absorption, increase your metabolism and energy, and bolster your commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

Setting Goals That Will Make You UNSTOPPABLE!

Zig Ziglar, “See-You-at-the-Top” Success Coach, once said, “I don't care how much power, brilliance or energy you have, if you don't harness it and focus it on a specific target, and hold it there you're never going to accomplish as much as your ability warrants.”

Best-selling author, motivational speaker, Success Coach Denis Waitley, wrote, “Goals provide the energy source that powers our lives. One of the best ways we can get the most from the energy we have is to focus it. That is what goals can do for us; concentrate our energy.”

A few year ago, I had the extreme pleasure of participating in a 31-Day Starting Over Challenge with Cheryl Pullins, Empowerment Speaker and Success Coach to Women. During Week Two of the Challenge, Coach Pullins addresseed the importance of setting goals.

“Goal setting,” Coach Cheryl explains, “is the practice of determining and drawing out an actual plan of action to achieve something specific. Those who have no ambition may not feel that this is necessary but those who understand how heavy and important it is to want for things, will have another idea. Goal setting is important because:

  • It gives you a definite path. Direction determines the destination and not otherwise. You could be aiming for a different destination but if you heading the opposite way, you will never get to where you are supposed to go. Goal setting defines the path that you have to take, and it functions much like a map that will direct your course.
  • It organizes your thoughts. It makes everything seem scientific. You have a plan that is composed of steps and it will guide you through the entire process.
  • It signifies your claim. Writing down your goals makes it more definite. When it is out there, you signify a stronger claim for it, and almost assume that it is already yours.
  • It keeps you in tune. This is important for times when you lose your way and you need to find your way back. The goal is like a map that you can refer to, anytime, and this is going to be helpful in so many different ways.”

Truly, goal setting is important. However, how many of us have set a goal on January 1st and for some reason abandoned it by March or April 1st? How does this happen when, with great ardor and great fervor, we exclaim and proclaim our intention to family, friend, and the universe that we are setting our goal to lose weight, to stop smoking, to start a new business, or to ___________________ (you fill in the blank)?

In his video “New Year New Life” Tony Robbins, entrepreneur, author and Peak Performance Strategist, emphasizes that creating a goal that cannot fail requires two important qualities: a compelling vision and a compelling reason(s).

Watch as he explains how to ensure your success as you set or re-set your goal today.

Okay, so, if you have set your new resolutions for the year 2016?  Review them carefully!

Be sure that you have a compelling vision and a compelling reason(s) in order for your goals to be achieved!  And then, review them every single and with FEELING!

Wishing you a most positive, productive, and prosperous 2016!
